Help me save him. I scraped him off from a hilly area and planted in a well areated mix of soil. I watered them sparing every morning to make those grey sunburnt stem to become green. My hastiness- i wanted them to be green soon. But to my foolishness , the stems started showing black spots at its tip. Surfed the web for some solutions. Could it be a fungal attack or Rot or sunburn(unlikely) ?? Uploading pics

Probably just too wet and not enough drainage. Use a decent cactus mix and only water every few days. They like it on the dry side with plenty of light. If a hot day then water well but normally not much water. Take out of pot and let the plant dry in a cool dry spot for two or three days and replant.

Thanks @cactusnut . I shal take the plant out and dry it as yu said. Should i water it when i repot or should it stay dry? Will these spots go away or is it permanent?

I agree with @cactusnut sounds like too wet too soon, always good when relocating a new plant to do it slowly a little at a time and wouldn't hurt to use a fungicide when repotting. The damage with succulents is permanent but fades a little over time. @DR.Bell

It's certainly Stapelia gigantea. Don't water it in when potting just use a moist but not dripping wet cactus mix. Leave it for four or five days before watering. Of they get too dry the leaves will become soft, you want to keep them firm without over water or too much shade.
