The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies — Gertrude Jekyll.
I liberated these last year from behind the shed. Too lovely to hide. I might move them again to the white bed.
Good morning ☕ bluebells are out now.
Morning Deborah 👋 How do you get on with the Spanish bluebells? Do you have a problem with them? They are pretty. I’ve had some pop up but have heard and read they can be thuggish?
Yeah they can be, I inherited them with the garden, I had them in the last garden too. I haven’t had a problem with them so far @italydiva but it might come I guess
Beautiful,I love Bluebells, move are just starting to come through, I've Spanish mostly but do have some English which in excited to see coming through.
I bought some English in the green for the back garden where they are well away from the Spanish, I’ve a couple just started flowering now @marie1611
If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been at your current property Deborah?
We moved in 22/12/19 it was all just grass mainly with a few roses and Shrubs dotted about the outsides. @italydiva
You’ve certainly created a lovely garden Deborah in a such short period of time. I’m torn as what to do about my Spanish bluebells, I do like them but not sure I could allow them to swamp my border 🤷♀️🙇♀️
I read on here that they are controllable by stamping on the foliage @italydiva
Interesting! I did have a chuckle to myself when I read this...my husband will think I’ve gone mad if he sees me stamping on my plants 😱😂
Its such a pity they are such thugs.
