I was given a tip to pick tomatoes just as they start to change colour then place in newspaper store in a cool dark place, what a rezult sweet ripe and delicious the added bonus is the plant can pour it's energy into producing more fruit it really works !☺
Tomatoes are plentiful here as well. They're just starting to ripen. We grew Early Girl, Roma and First Lady. Of course fresh is always great but we make pasta sauce, tomato relish, tomato juice, salsa, and canned tomatoes. We also freeze a few and dehydrate a lot of the Roma's.
