This was gifted to me today. I believe it is some type of orchid. Its only just a tiny little baby plant right now. Hopefully I can learn to care for this one and help it thrive.

@colby.rocket.pants if it is an orchid I would make sure you get in the right potting mix right away. Orchids typically grow on trees (and similar) roots don't typically grow in "dirt" "soil".

@mamasan I was told it was in orchid soil. Is that not the right soil? She told me that it had already started rooting, although she broke some while potting.

@colby.rocket.pants it doesn't look right to me. Orchid roots need lots of air. Usually put in a bark and sphagnum moss mix. That looks like regular potting soil or a cactus/ palm mix
