Signs of life!! #newgrowth I had it in a sheltered spot while it was getting established, but I'll need to move it to a sunnier spot now so it grows with the proper compact form. 🤩
@philstalder @dadayba thanks! 😁 I only fairly recently learned that some cacti offset in this John Hurt fashion, with a baby bursting out directly through their flesh. Seems like a bizarre way to do it, but who am I to judge? 🤷🏻♀️
My pricey new cactus baby arrived today, and I decided it HAD TO be in THIS pot, and NO OTHER POT, NOT EVEN ONE OF THE TWO DOZEN NEW ONES I JUST BOUGHT. 🙄🤦🏻♀️ So I unceremoniously dumped out the former inhabitant to make room. So help me, this guy better not die. 😤 I always seem to have issues with the expensive ones doing that, just to spite me.
Man, that DOES make me feel better, thanks @txgardener ! Seems like the pricey stuff I spring for only has a 50% survival rate in my hands. I killed my $40 Tephrocactus geometricus cutting in record time a few months ago. 😭
Shoot that's tough. Mine usually get chewed on if it's inside (😼). Outback outside it gets broken or knocked over (⚽️,🏈,🏃♂️) or if I put it outside out front gets dug up (🐿 no squirrel emojis). So I know ur pain 😩
Thanks, @txgardener ! I try to keep to a mostly white & terra cotta theme, so it doesn't start to look like too much of a hodgepodge, but every once in a while I can't resist something colorful to spice things up.
Goes beautifully with ur cacti and ur white pebbles. I usually stick with terra cotta for my cacti' s and succulents. Lately I've been finding different shaped terra cotta pots so I'm excited
@txgardener the BEST one I EVER FOUND was a huge terra cotta FOOT. I still haven't found the perfect plant for it, so it's been sitting empty for a couple years, but it still makes me so damn happy. 🤣

Very cool. 😎
Couple babies peeking through! So cool

The good the bad and they ugly. Nature at its finest. What can you do. 😱
Cool!🌞
