Echinopsis aurea v. leucomalla. I never watered this guy enough. Only recently learned how much water it likes, and now it's looking much better. The flowers only last half a day, and I've always missed the full display in the past, so I'm going to try reeeeally hard to catch it this time. 😳

The rest of the buds all opened today! It's an early bloomer, and I woke up late, so they were already closing up, unfortunately. Bees were going nuts for them, though! Hopefully I'll get some seeds! 🤞 #beemagnet

@sunlovin I've never hand-pollinated. I keep meaning to try it, but I've never actually needed to! 😂
@philstalder For sure! The only spring thing that I REALLY keep meaning to do is go see one of the superblooms out in the desert. Have you ever been?
Oh yes, a must see. I’ve been to Death Valley, Palm Springs area, Anzo Barrego (my favorite) and CA poppy preserve in Lancaster. I’m sure you have many places in AZ. I went to someplace east of Phoenix. I want to say near Tucson and of course Sedona. It’s always a hassle with traffic and all day trip so I’ve missed them lately. But u should try. It’s otherworldly. 😊 @beatnikcrab
@philstalder Every spring I see articles about what superblooms are coming up, and where to go for them, but I've never managed to go. There are a few closer ones, but the CA ones seem to get more hype. Someday!
