When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, aquilegia, paeonies, philadelphus...

Helleborus niger

12 Dec 18 • Just had my first mince pie and rum butter and my white hellebore is in flower so it must be nearly Christmas 🎄

I have to hold off as long as possible on the mince pies, as once I start there’s no stopping me 🥧🥧🥧 @columbiariver

It’s that time of year when I have to control my envy for people who live down south 😉 @suzyw

I’ve definitely had that feeling over the last couple of weeks. There’s next to nothing going on here. I’m not having that again next winter, so I’ve planted a callicarpa and bought a mahonia. I need some colour 😆

We need to be careful Suzanne. It will take more than a few flowers to get me to move back darn sarf 😉 😂 Have you got room for a witch hazel? Or some winter jasmine (takes up virtually no space if you keep it pruned against a wall)? Both have been adding some colour to my garden. @suzyw

I like the idea of a witch hazel 🤔🤔 The jasmine could be a potential if the climbing honeysuckle I planted last summer doesn’t come back. It said it’s evergreen, erm not in my garden it isn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️ @awomanonabike

Since winter jasmine needs pruning in the spring you could plant them together... Just a thought. 😉😊

As much as my fondest memories are of living in England, take more than "a few flowers" to get me to move back 😎🙃

@awomanonabike Grey skies and seemingly never ending rain supply were always a facinating phenomena. 😁
