When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic-ish garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, paeonies, philadelphus...

Euphorbia griffithii 'Fireglow'

I was going to pull all these out as it’s definitely not clump forming and is all over the place. But it has had a reprieve...because it is lovely 🙄🧡❤️💚

Mine is new last year. They are gorgeous but I see an odd growing pattern. They are so bright and happy

I bought this last year, is it suckering or self seeding everywhere?

It’s a lovely colour, I’ve just looked it up and RHS say it’s a vigorous, spreading perennial 🙄😖

Hi Bennedict, it suckers and they are very superficial so it is easy to control, so it’s not that bad and it is gorgeous 😃 @buzz

Yup! But I’m pretty certain that’s not what it said when I bought it 🙄 There is another that is very similar but is clump forming but I can’t remember it’s name @sieveheadsarah

Thank you Jane, Pauline and Jason. I think you and Dan have all wishlisted this. It is lovely but you might want to take a look at E. griffithii Great Dixter which is very similar but is clump-forming, whereas this is suckering. It is easy to control but gives the mint a run for its money... 😉😂 @pelly @flof1952 @Jasonsparkes1 @dan5584

Love the colours in this euphorbia. Maybe one for your shady garden Suzanne @suzyw

Just been looking these up and think it might be 'Dixter' rather than 'Fireglow'. Either way I love it!

Amazing colour and I do like a euphorbia. Mind you, so do greenfly. I had to dig one up last week and bin it, it was beyond rescue.

@suzyw How awful. I wonder if it's just a certain variety. I get greenfly on the roses but I've never noticed them on any euphorbia. Worth another try?

It was in full sun in the front garden. The problem is, although they're a complete pain, I'm not very good at killing the destructive bugs. I even lifted a ladybird from another plant in the hope it might help. It did try but there was no way I could save the plant. I still have another two on the back patio in pots. It was the Ascot Rainbow one and it was such a vibrant colour.

@suzyw What a shame. I've just looked that one up & it looks fab. I love the idea of you doing the house moving for a ladybird 🐞 I have to be honest, there isn't a squeamish bone in my body - I just squish the little *insert expletive here* 😂😂
