Reticulate iris is named after the fibrous netting around the bulb. The leaves are tubular, pointed, and ridged. The plants are small - up to around 15 cms. in height - and the flowers come early in the season - from late Winter.Iris reticulata hybrid 'Evening Twilight' (bred by Alan McMurtrie). Flowering in late winter/early spring. This is an unusual cross between Iris sophenensis and danfordiae originating in Canada. The flower colour is very distinctive a combination of grey, green and blue. This is a small Iris so although happy to grow outside, to appreciate the flowers it is probably best brought indoors during flowering.
