Mine didn't flower last year but I think it didn't like its spot. I've since moved it and it is happier now

I repotted my pieris yesterday, and sprayed with a fungicide just to be sure the red spots weren't fungus related. My gut tells me they're due to abiotic stress. Hopefully it enjoys the fresh ericaceous soil! #pieris #pierisjaponica #pieris-mountainfire #pierisjaponicamountainfire #mountainfire

Not 100 % sure as I don't have a pieris but I think it might not be nutrient deficiency. If it was, the foliage would look patchy. Or either the new growth or the old growth would look yellowish but not both. It looks more like fungal leaf spot. Or perhaps wind/frost stress. You could spray it with fungicide and remove the foliage that already has spots, otherwise the fungal disease will spread to the whole plant ☺ Last year I had to strip my rhodo bare and I only have 1 flower this year 😕

@ublaszko Thanks for the tips! It could be wind/hail damage either, we've had a fair bit of that, but I will keep a close eye on it and spray with a fungicide just in case.
