My smallest #ensete-ventricosum-maurelli My biggest one is about 8ft tall but is mostly hidden by the equally tall tetrapanax... May have to rethink the planting on that one next year 😂

This stored in the heated green house too? I’m going to have to dig mine up and wrap up for winter

@sahsa yes my greenhouse is full to the brim over winter. Both my maurellis are getting a bit big to go in there but I have nowhere to dry store them and not quite sure of the process anyway

#ensete-ventricosum-maurelli @jacaranda @richard.spicer.7906 mine has been out about 3 weeks, the first two leaves are now sunburnt as expected, the new leaf is coming through fine as it is probably well adjusted now. I leave the tatty leaves on til I have two through that aren't sunburnt.

@richard.spicer.7906 as I thought, I've got tetrapanax runners caused by disturbing the soil to put that palm in. I've dug them out and will give you a shout if I can keep them growing

Please keep posting pics of your banana as it grows, Julie, so that I can follow your example 😍

It probably doesn't look it in the photo as it's quite deceptive but the top of the red leaf in the middle is 4ft 4" This is its 3rd year @jacaranda

Exactly what's happened to mine. Unsure, so just left them in. 2 new leaves all intact growing through now. Love your garden! ❤️

Don't worry @cazx completely normal for the first few weeks. The new leaves emerging will be absolutely fine. Same for musa basjoo and all the other bananas I have

@vec phew 😅 I was panicking beginning of the year thinking I'd lost them and looked after them well over the winter ❄️ what feed do they like and when's best to start ?

Now would be a good time to start. They love the nice cheap own brand tomato feed, chicken pellets, manure, gro more etc etc @Cazx I don't think you can overfeed a banana 😂

Cataloguing my tropical looking babies. Should all grow big providing I can keep them going indoors over winter ☺ #ethiopian-banana
