28/05/19 - bit of an unusual bulb update. I see these every year in the garden centre but I’ve never seen one posted on GT. Not sure if anyone has ever tried them, but mine has just started flowering in the polytunnel. The foliage is quite thin and grass like, but the flowers are just under three foot tall. Has anyone else tried them?

@richard.spicer.7906 I tried them this year for the first time, I planted mine outdoors in a pot with a tall wispy grass, it worked well. Great little plant and apparently naturalise well, I read somewhere. So have earned there place in the border for next year.

Likewise not seen or heard about this one, it might sound arrogant but I’m always surprised at new-to-me-plants...love it though! X x x

That’s interesting to know Tony, I was thinking of planting them outdoors but then resorted to a pot in the polytunnel. The flower seems to be lasting for ages, which is a good job considering all this wet weather right now 🙄 - will be interesting to see how well both ours will come back again next year 👍🏼
