#itsokaytofail Not sure if this is the pink or the blue one... but both were looking very leggy and suffering from mildew (as is quite a bit in my garden!) so have dug them both up, potted in fresh compost and cut right back. This one is starting to shoot again, no sign of anything on the other one yet #scabious #mildew I have sprayed my affected plants with Rose Clear (says it treats mildew) has worked better on some than others. Will try diluted milk solution next I think

I sewed some of these in my trough and they were doing really well until I found them all eaten away when we got back from holiday 😞

Oh no how annoying Sue 😖 these are ones I've had for a couple of years - I've sown some annual ones which I finally planted out today but to be honest I think they're going to be another one that I end up replacing - they flower well but just always flop all over the place 😏 I took out all my Gaura the other day for the same reason 😔 shame because I love it! @susanhumphrey333

I was going to ask you about your Gaura. The Gaura seeds that Liz sent me are still in their pot and still so tiny. I actually took them on holiday when we went to Cornwall 😂 to keep an eye on them. The Cleome I decided to sew direct and there's no sign of them. I was so looking forward to them both and wonder what I do wrong 🤔

😆 I've definitely found it quite laborious growing from seed Sue 🙄 apart from the veg, which seemed to germinate and grow much quicker, a lot of mine are really pathetic looking! I've planted a lot out today, if they grow it'll be a lovely surprise! At least next year I won't have to do as much and will definitely buy Cosmos plugs! 😬 @susanhumphrey333

As I seem to have deleted my original post...this is my Scabiosa, still flowering and lots of healthy foliage. However there is an orange and white mushy growth around the base of the plant, which I'm assuming is a type of fungus? Can anyone tell me please if it is harmful, why its appeared (too damp?) and what I should do with it! Have googled but I can't find anything that looks like this! 😳 thanks peeps! 😊 #advice #fungi

These aren't actually mushrooms Caroline - looks more like a gel/firm liquid 🤔 the plant doesn't seem to be affected by it, leaves are healthy... The mushroom pic I posted is on an old tree stump further up the border... 😕

I know rachel it's just the stage it goes through honey fungus isn't always just mushrooms it can be both either together or separately if u see what I mean and just on the ground not always on stumps or plants/trees ☺

Looks yukky Rach. If you are worried about honey fungus still, another sign is what are called bootlaces. Small roots that you find in the soil as well as the toadstools. Your plants don't seem to be suffering and as they are healthy will probably resist it 😘

Maybe I'll have to dig this one up to have a proper look then and if that's what it is I'll have to replace the soil in that area won't I? @cazz47 @susanhumphrey333 at least this is only a small plant and I have another so if I have to get rid of it it won't be the end of the world! 😁

Caroline there is a tree root behind the Scabiosa which has an orange growth on it (looks like blisters! 😳) and then the orange 'mush' sort of starts there and then over the base of the Scabiosa. There is another Scabiosa right next to it which is unaffected and the rest of the soil around seems fine! @cazz47

Ah ok well don't do anything drastic just yet! if I were you I'd dig up both scabiosa's and put in pots and just keep eye on them then carefully dig up that mush and bag it snd take to waste tip...but don't touch the mushroom fungi cos spores will fall off and spread ! get some domestos add to some water 2 parts bleach to 4 water i recon and soak the mushroom fungi and surrounding soil! Admittedly not very organic but neither is honey fungus! that's what id do anyway worth a try @rachelbrooks
