Afternoon GT amigo's ☀️😎.. just in need of a bit of advice from all you Tasmanian tree fern expects. I've got 8 new ferns coming through but I've left two existing ferns from last year which was in good condition. Is it ok to leave them on? Or should I remove them? Or doesn't it matter?.
Same here Caroline, just haven't got the heart to remove the remaining ferns seeing they look healthy 🙄. But I think I'll take your advice and remove them seeing i've 8/9 new ones coming through 👌😏. Thanks @Cazx
@DeborahBanks Noooo!? 😣... @Cazx my Caz are popping up new ones as well 👍 I didn't wrap mine up at all over the wintering months, as stated before my garden is quite in closed on in which probably protected it? Do I have to remove last season growth @Cazx x
Totally get where your coming from Julie! 🙄.. I've already used about 90% of available space in my little retreat now! 🤔.. fortunately most are in pots in which I'm forever shifting around 🕺🤸🕺🌿🌿🌿🌿😂 @vec
Hooray 😁 you won’t be disappointed @porta such a great statement plant. Easy to care for over winter too. Keep us posted on where you decide to place it ( is it a he or she?) My Trevor is enjoying being placed by the pond, when is been sunny and it just going in, it casts a lovely shadow. 👏🏼🌴🌴
Morning Caroline 👋😙.. I just gave in! It's been in the making now for last 18 months 🙄😂.. I'm just going to leave her in the pot as she is on the top deck & just move her little more over to the left of the photo where it's semi shadded 🌴😏👌.. you know what! I'll name her Caz! Because you sprung to mind when I bumped into her at the garden centre.. but I may need your expertise advice come the winter! As in pruning & caring... @Cazx
Aww I’ve never had anything named after me before. Thanks! @porto 😃 I’m by no means any expert on these stunning ferns. I kept mine in the greenhouse unwrapped and it survived. Was reluctant to cut the fronds until I started to see the new ones appearing. Trevor as gone from strength to strength 💪🏼 just remember when watering to do it over the trunk of the fern, as they dry out quickly, especially in the hot 🥵 weather we’ve had recently. Enjoy 😉 and welcome to the tree fern club lol 😂
Hey your welcome Caz🌴😉... I haven't got a greenhouse 🙄.. but based down south in Hertfordshire in a small inclosed garden with a micro climate 🌴☀️🌴☀️🌴. Hence the tropical look & feel of my little retreat 😎☀️☀️☀️.. do you have to store it away in a greenhouse over the winter or is it just where your based? 🤔... Do you feed yours? The soil requirements?.. just got my Caz in standard compost 👍 @caz
