I have the reverse, that's what always happened to me before, my last garden was just too wet, I always have to cut them straight down. Here it's on rocky ground, and it's the 1st time I've had flower heads still on in Spring

The Chelsea chop certainly helps them stay tidy and not flop all over.

It didn’t work with mine Joan 🙄 but they desperately need dividing in the spring, they’ve got rather large and the heads are so big this year 😊 @joannie.a
