Morning everyone, have a great #foliagefriday. This is my little green oasis, a work in progress as I’ve yet to paint the table to match the seating and add a couple of finishing touches 💚

Difficult to see but my acer is infested with black fly. I’ve never had this happen before 😢 #acer-sango-kaku #blackfly #foliagefriday

Good Morning Jane, I’ve had two green caterpillars 🐛 on mine and mine is infested in greenfly and black fly too. I’ve never had that either. It didn’t look very happy where it was growing before and had wind and / or sun scorch damage on the leaves last year but I never had an aphid problem. So far, the leaves look better since I’ve moved it but it’s covered in Aphids now. 🤔🥲 @pelly

Morning Karen. It sounds like you are having more problems than me but I'll be keeping an eye out for aphids now. Thanks for the heads up. I haven't really had the beautiful autumn colours on either of my acers for the last two years as the wind scorch has decimated them 🥺 @KOutdoors

Hi Jane, oh no that’s such a shame. I’ve seen them growing in gardens and they look so beautiful no scorch no wind damage - perfect leaves and I’ve thought how do they do that? It’s more or less impossible to protect them from wind even when you think they’re in a sheltered position. I’m keeping an eye on it and now I’ve moved it to a pot at least I can move it round the garden if needs be otherwise I might be looking for an alternative plant 🤔 @pelly

I keep mine in a pot for the same reason and have had the same thoughts as you as to whether they have a place in my garden. They cause me a lot of worry and I don't need that at my stage of life 🙄😂 @KOutdoors

I find when my acers show autumn colour really varies from plant to plant, some have had no leaves for weeks now and some have just changed.

This is my only one......at the moment @joannie.a 😄😄

It is beautiful, mine has a dark coloured fence behind it, this and the similar coloured dogwood are among my winter favorites

I’d love a dogwood but don’t really know where I could have one, so this is a very good compromise, I get my Acer and I get the red stems in winter. This is going to go in a large planter on my patio. @jpea
