@smacks Oh no that doesn't make sense how disappointing. I couldn't believe my mums this week. She's had four blooms out at once!! And she's got a tiny bud, an extra bonus. To says hers was way behind mine it all seemed to happen at once. Hers is in a warm room. Are yours? It seems to have done the trick for hers 😊😊

My mum's looks as though that will bloom very soon so that'll be nice for her 😊😊❤❤Looking forward to seeing yours, tag me in please

@lilybee 🐝😊😊Thank you! These are my first ones. They really are fantastic although (being a 3 cat owner) and a dog; a friend told me they're toxic to pets!😨Having said that none of them have gone anywhere near it. So far so good. You take some good wildlife pics I just had a look 😊😊❤❤

Sounds like busy household with 3 cats and a dog! There's so many plants that seem to be toxic to animals - think I'd be a nervous wreck checking what they were nibbling on all the time! @midnightgardener

Her sister bud Gladys is doing well too. @smacks I'll check yours out John she'll be great when she blooms. Got to say they're very top heavy. She was leaning like the Tower of Pisa yesterday I had to bring a garden cane in to straighten her up!😊😊❤❤

Oh Phyllis you are incredible. More progress!! It's like waiting for a baby to arrive!!😃The tiny split that appeared yesterday is now a real opening. The last time I remember checking enthusiastically for signs; was a couple of years ago when a waiter I know told me to take a Chrysallis home. He told me it would turn brown and then hatch. On the very morning we were due to leave it happened! After days of watching it all of a sudden overnight (the last night) we watched a Butterfly being born

Phyllis is unstoppable!! She started leaning so I've secured her and she's showing signs of getting close to opening up!! I think she could be smiling proudly at me before the week's out. I'm very proud of her. The other little sister Gladys is small in comparison. Let's see what happens there's always progress with Phyllis 😃❤❤❤❤

I think you need to have the right conditions to prepare the bulb to reflower but I don't really have a cool dark room to force it. To be honest, forced bulbs never come back as good as the first year so I stopped buying them and instead I invest in garden books to keep me entertained through winter. @linfoster

@smacks Oh do post a pic that would be nice to see. My mum and dad used to have one years ago and it came back year after year. So this is my first one we'll see what happens. It's looking healthy at the mo ☺☺

@linfoster Lin don't lose hope. I've just learned that after the first flowering they can take another 2 years before they flower again. I'm sure the one my mum had flowered year on year. Keep it and see you might just get a lovely surprise in a year or so 😊😊
