What a specimen 👍 Mine seems to just limp along from one year to the next, never really getting beyond about 2 ft tall.

Can I suggest digging around by the roots. I dug a hole to put a palm in and voila, suckers started to appear 😉

Hey @Leroybe I love this plant! 👍🏻 Strange question, but do you think the leaves would survive a few hits from falling conkers and their shells without tearing? I’m thinking of planting one in dappled partial shade under an old horse chestnut tree 🌰🤔

@gardengimp good question Graham! They do have big strong leaves,but conker shells are spiky so could possibly cause tearing if there’s any weight! I would still plant one there,it’s worth a try,as long as there’s also room under the tree for the potential height of the trex? 🤔

@Leroybe yes, the prospective tree is mature, possibly at least 40 years old and listed by the local council. I’m forward planning for a house move, so going to give the T. rex a try as you suggest! I’m hoping a corner position between fencing and tree will help to shelter it here in W.Yorks 🤞🏻

My TRex last year when I first got it,once in the ground it reached about 4'.....hoping this year up to 7-8' with big leaves! 🌴 😍

Just looked it up, I like that a lot. Might be a bit big for my garden though 😳

It's probably too big for my garden too,but I love large leaves & exotic type plants! 😊
