Not sure which variety this is but it's definitely not Thomas A. Edison 😬 expensive miss-labelling

Morning folks bit dull here but the promise is for much better. This dahlia I put in this pot to transport it when we moved but didn't have anywhere to plant it when we arrived, never mind it's happy enough

Morning Jeremy, it’s the same here, I think it’s going to be a muggy day. I’d really like to have some rain, everywhere is so dry at the moment 😱

Thank you Jane, I think so too, it was a pot the tulips were finished in, not a great show, changed the compost, plenty of drainage, leys hope 🤞🤞

@jaynehynesburton @vec OK Jayne, Julie, as this is my first time growing dahlias I've taken one out and this one I'm leaving in, do I cut it down to about 4cm above ground and cover with some mulch? Thanks

vec

I cut mine to ground level then mulch normally with a goods few cms of horse manure but I've been known to empty out a hanging basket and use the mound of soil to protect or used left over naff compost. Doesn't mean I'm right though jpea but it works for me 😉

Just read @vec Post and was wondering if it's time to dig this dahlia up, brush off the soil and let the tuber dry out before wrapping it in newspaper?

I'm in a frost pocket Jpea and got hit quite badly last night. I don't dig mine up, I just mulch mine but I have dug them up from clients gardens this week
