That's odd. Maybe old seed? The bees certainly like them here & I've had a bumper crop from them every summer. They're already at the top of the arch they're growing on at about 6 to 7 ft tall & loads of flowers are appearing. @cyndi

Great plants. Good flowers & produce loads of tasty pods. Not only that, but I dig up the tuberous roots each autumn & keep them over winter, like dahlias for next year, when they grow very vigorously @cyndi

You're very welcome Cyndi as always. I only found out a few years ago. It makes a big difference in terms of rate of growth & produce 👍 @cyndi

I didn't know you could over winter them 😮 no wonder yours a already flowering.. I'll give that a go next thanks 👍

Yes Kimmy, it was a revelation to me too a few years ago when I heard about it. Treat them just like dahlias. They are slow to start, but oh boy, when they do, they grow so fast from the tubers compared to seed grown ones. Well worth a try 👍 @kimmy01

I can remember my Dad grew lovely runnerbeans,I used to help him with the watering they need soooo much to keep them producing 😀💚💚💚
