It’s miserable outside so I’m staying indoors today and giving my #houseplants a little TLC! #zygocactus #thanksgiving-cactus #pink #newbuds #succulentsunday 💚

That’s a good idea….👌🏼

I don't blame you one bit, chilly and rainy here too, you have lots of pretty buds there👍💕

Very good idea. I think I'll do the same Barbara 💚

#macro There are buds on the #thanksgiving-cactus 💕 💚

Mine is slow this year. My buds are half the size of yours.

Yay💕 mine are in bloom also🤗so pretty

Check mine out.

@gjones there are lots of buds on mine but most of them are really tiny! This one is the biggest, but in reality it’s quite small. 😂

I can’t wait for them to open, although I might be waiting for quite a while yet 😂 @crabby58

Wow, Kelsey, yours is enormous 😳 @kelsey92

My #thanksgivingcactus is flowering again! Perhaps it knows that today is my beautiful granddaughter’s 19th birthday and it’s decided to join the celebrations 🥳 Happy birthday Maia 😘🎉🥂🍾 💚

Happy birthday to your granddaughter 🎂🎁🎂

Thanks Jane. We won’t be able to see her today but @mulberry will be showering her with hugs and kisses on our behalf! 😂😂😘🤗 @pelly

If we ever get there @jacaranda!! 😩

Mine ain't blooming again.

😢😢 @kelsey92

I gather the traffic is bad 😳 @mulberry 😢

Mine was blooming in March of this year.

Awful!! We’ve only just hit Devon...Maia will be on her way out partying as we arrive! 😂🙄

Mine was full of flowers in April, Kelsey, so I didn’t expect to see any more until the end of the year!!! Crazy times 🤣🤣 @kelsey92

Ah well, at least you’re now in Devon 👍 I hope the weather is better down there. It’s cold, grey and wet here today 😢😢 @mulberry 😘

I hope you get to see her soon 😘

The #thanksgiving-cactus that became a #christmas-cactus is now an #easter-cactus 😳 It has 20 flowers on it at the moment with more than 20 buds still to open! 💖 #succulentsunday #cactus #houseplant 💚

It's confused.com 💗😘

My Christmas cactus is in full bloom !!

All Crazy and beautiful at the same time😍must be something in the air, mine is blooming too.💗 love it💗

@charlotte @crabby58 mine did the same thing in March of 2021.

We must be thankful for such crazy plants! @charlotte @crabby58 @kelsey92 😍

Check mine out.

What color is this one.

#foliagefriday with lots of #buds I can’t believe this is about to flower again! I counted 60 buds but I wonder if they will all open 🤔🤞 #zygocactus #thanksgivingcactus #succulent 💚

If they all come out it will look amazing 😍😍😍

It will, Jane, but it seems far too many for the plant to cope with! @pelly

Amazing💗

Will be lovely 😊

Mine is really not healthy. Not sure what to do with it!

I repotted mine a couple of years ago and since then I’ve been feeding it regularly and only watering with rain water, Alison. I moved it to a sunnier window sill recently so maybe a change of scene would do yours good 🤔😂🤞👍😘 @bluefox23

The first flower has opened just in time for #succulentsunday 💕 and there are quite a few other buds waiting in the wings, too! #zygocactus #thanksgivingcactus #pink #houseplant #succulent 💚

Fabulous when they bloom, so pretty 💗 #luvthanksgivingcactus

Love the bright pink. So pretty. 💖

I thought this was a #thanksgiving-cactus but it seems to flower between January and March so maybe I’ve got the identification wrong? #zygocactus #succulent #pinkflowers #indoorplant #houseplant #nationalhouseplantweek 💚

No, you're right, it's a Thanksgiving cactus, if you don't do all the light-timing and other things to force them, they tend to bloom or not to their own schedule

Thanks Leslie. I originally identified it by the leaf shape/size so I’m glad I got that right! I don’t do anything to it, just let it do its own thing, and if it’s happy then so am I 😂😂😍😘 @lesliecole491

My Thanksgiving Cactus flowers in June and in October~November🙂go figure. Enjoy the blooms.

It's a very healthy one whichever one it is. Lovely plant 💚💚💕💕

I have 3 Christmas cacti they had all flowered and finished before Christmas.. I just let them do their own thing... I have 2 Easter ones that do as they like too 😂

I love them but they’re a law unto themselves, Sandra 😳 Welcome to Garden Tags 👋 I hope you’re enjoying this brilliant app 🤞😘 @scotsthistle

I let mine have their own rhythm too

Jacaranda thank you, I am sorry I’ve just seen your message. My Easter cactus are just flowering now 😂 I am still finding my feet on the app 😀

No worries, Sandra. Once you get to grips with the app you’ll have loads of fun! This cactus has just flowered again, which is crazy, but I’m not complaining. @scotsthistle 😍

Mine just do their own thing never flower in the right ‘season’ 😂

I took a photo of this for #foliagefriday then noticed a tiny bud 💕 You can just see it in the photo, at the end of the bottom left leaf! No other buds but the plant has put on a lot of growth in the past few months. Swipe left to see its progress 💚 #zygocactus #bud #succulent 💚

First I thought this was a #thanksgiving-cactus then it became a #christmas-cactus and now it’s an #easter-cactus 😂 Not bad for a plant that was on its last legs (or leaves!) a few months ago!!! #nevergiveup #tlcworks #succulentsunday #pinkflowers #houseplant 💕

😄they do have a mind of their own, they say I'll bloom whenever I want to bloom! 😁

Mine doesn’t look very happy. I’m not sure I’m lo9king after it properly! Any tips?

Not really, Alison! Mine is on a south-east facing windowsill above a radiator and seems to be happy enough. I water it occasionally with rain water but apart from that I’ve left it to do its own thing. I did repot it last year so maybe you could repot yours and see what happens. 🤞 @bluefox23

Now here’s the question. Is this a very, very late flower on a #thanksgivingcactus or a very late flower on a #christmascactus or a very early flower on an #eastercactus 🤔 If I’m confused I wonder how the #cactus is feeling 😳😂 #houseplant #pink

I have one just starting to flower too!

#confused.com 💕🤔

😂😂👍 @pelly

A very very late Thanksgiving Cactus. Mine actually flowered at the correct time last year Barbara 👍🏼🤔

You’re probably right, Sarah, as the first flowers were around Thanksgiving. There’s another tiny flower bud on the opposite side of the plant, so I’m hoping that it will also open, given time 🤞 @sieveheadsarah

I think I can see another bud Barbara on the right hand side leaf 🤔🤔

You might be right, Sarah. It’s really tiny so it might not develop into a flower at this late stage but you never know! @sieveheadsarah

Whatever it is, it's very pretty! 💕

Isn’t it to do with the leaf shape - I think later ones have smoother leaves 🤔

I’ll do some investigating, Sharon 👍 @sharonhayden

#mondaymotivation Never give up on a plant! I have to admit to sorely neglecting this over the past months, so much so that it was withered and almost dead. I repotted and fed it and stood in on a sunny window sill above a radiator and hey presto! It’s come back to life and it’s flowering 💕 #cactus #thanksgiving-cactus #pinkflowers #nevergiveup #houseplant 02/12/2019

Beautiful, more pink than mine😍🌸

It’s looking great! 💗

Looks wonderful Barbara - well rescued 👍🏼

Have you been peeking at me in my wizard’s hat 🧙🏻♀️ @scaryskates 🤣🤣

I’d love it! I could ask our local celebrity (Dame Julie, no less!) for some tips 🤣😘
A question! My #thanksgivingcactus had loads of buds and a couple of flowers. The flowers were hidden at the back of the plant so I turned it round. The buds then promptly fell off. I’ve since read that they don’t like to be moved once they bud up as the buds then try to turn back to their original position but are too weak to do so and fall off. Has anyone else heard of this or had this problem? #succulentsunday #planthelp #cactus 💚
Yep, heard that too, and it did the same with mine, after I turned it the buds fell off, haven't moved this one and so far so good, reckon buds will start opening next week
Oh that's interesting to read, I lost a load of buds last year....Shan't be moving mine then! @hebelover
I never turn my cactus once the flower buds develop for this exact reason Barbara, also if you buy one in bud from the shops the same will usually happen 😟 Elaine was asking about turning her cactus last week as all the buds were at the back of the plant, i said not to do it, I’m wondering how it’s doing now 🤔🤨 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom @hebelover @cee
@sieveheadsarah told me that very story when I moved mine so I ran and turned it back….no wonder I use to lose all my flowers…😏
@sieveheadsarah Sarah it’s the best it’s ever been thanks to you, I now understand why 👍🏼😉
That’s exactly what happened to my soft pink one! It seemed to be developing buds on only one side so I turned it and half of those buds fell off. Good info to know they’re best left as is😊
A prime example of how our plants know best! I never move mine, or turn it! 💗💗💗 Yours is a beauty!
I’m delighted to hear that this problem is real and not fake news!!! I also read that you shouldn’t water the plant once the buds appear. Is this also correct? @hebelover @sieveheadsarah @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom @gjones 🤔
I was very surprised when I read the article, Celina, but as so many of my buds had fallen off it certainly made sense 👍 @cee
Do you water it when in flower, Kari? 🤔 @KariSamuel
I water it about once a month regardless
