Plectranthus ambiguus 'Nico'

It was really mild today so I spent a couple of hours in the greenhouse and potted up four of the five #plectranthus cuttings I took on 14th November (swipe left to follow the story). They’re now in the utility room with a #globeamaranth cutting and a broken off piece of #sansevieria 💚 #keepingbusy #lockdown2021 #cuttings #newplants #pottingup 💚

Been 1’to-1’ today. Misty and miserable

It was only 2 degrees here but felt quite warm 🤔 I guess it was the lack of wind today. That's funny spell check kept changing wind to wine. No chance of a lack of wine here 😂😂😂

I can’t believe how easy they are to propagate, Sarah! It’s fascinating to watch the ones in water slowly develop roots. They’re far more interesting than the ones rooting in compost 😂 @sieveheadsarah

I have a few things propagating in water, sometimes the roots seem to appear overnight, yes they’re definitely more interesting than ones in compost 👍🏼😀

Well would you look at that! The two cuttings I put in water have got roots!!! The ones I did in compost are in the greenhouse and are looking good. I think they’ve taken but I’ll wait until I see roots coming out of the bottom of the pots before I do anything with them. #plectranthus #cuttings #rootedinwater #freeplants 💚

Following on from the advice given by @jennielorraine I’m trying both methods for #plectranthus-cuttings 🤞 The mother plant has provided six #cuttings Four of them have gone into compost mixed with vermiculite and two are in water. #watchandwait #plectranthus #plectranthus-nico #greenhouse 💚

A question.......what’s the best method for taking #plectranthus cuttings? My plant is looking strong and healthy with quite a few stems that look possible candidates for cuttings. Will they root in water or should I pot them up into compost? @clipperty @jennielorraine @richard.spicer.7906 #newplants #foliage 💚

Root really well in water and also in compost.

Sorry Barbara I’ve only just seen this. Yep in water or compost. I’ve also got some seedlings that plonked themselves in the cracks of the patio! Lifted carefully out and growing well. Greenhouse for winter (or the garage in my case), although last years massive plant survived being outside by the skin of its teeth. I just used the alive bit to take cuttings. Will post a pic. I have 2 big pots, as I got one from Teresa too x x x
