Having posted a long range shot of the Photinias the other day I thought I’d get a bit closer and photograph the actual flowers. I didn’t realise they were so pretty! #photinia #photiniaredrobin #upclose #whiteflowers #whiteandfrothy #mygardentoday 30/04/2019

I must check if mine are open yet 🤔🤔

They really are beautiful Barbara 💕💕

Giant photinias reaching for the sky! I’m sure there are more flowers this year than I’ve ever seen before 😲 #photinia #evergreen #evergreenshrubs #mygardentoday 29/04/2019

Wow 🌼🌼🌼

Going to show my ignorance now - I had no idea they flowered! I have a small one in the front garden and have never seen flowers on it.

Same here Sue and Barbara - I've never noticed flowers on any of ours 😕 @lilybee

That's huge Barbara, I thought mine was big 🤔🤔 it looks amazing with all the flowers 😍

This year has been good for the flowers I wonder if last year's heat had anything to do with it mine has a few but your is spectacular

That’s ginormous!! Mine is still in bud, but it’s covered in them. So obviously a bumper year!

I have a feeling that they don’t flower until they’re mature. These have been in the garden for at least 15 years and I’m sure they didn’t flower in the early days. I have a couple of younger ones in other areas and they haven’t flowered yet. @lilybee @anges

The weather is probably a factor @carolgs and the mild winter helped @rachelbrooks

Thank you very much for your #advice, ours are probably no more than 10 years old so a bit to go yet ☺

The promise of things to come! Some of my #photinia just produce new red leaves but others, like this one, have flower buds. #evergreenshrubs #buds #winterinterest #mygardentoday 29/12/2018

Photinias are the backbone of my garden, providing height to obscure neighbouring houses or hiding boundary fences. Some photinias are in flower now, mostly too high up to get a good photo but this one was at eye level. #mayflowers #photinia #whiteflowers #mygardentoday 19/05/2018

They're beautiful😍

Where have all the red leaves gone? My #photinia is flowering like crazy! #mygardentoday

Fabulous, wish mine would 😆

Never noticed any flowers on then before - what an extraordinary year this is in the garden.
So many buds on the #photinia-redrobin this year. The photo was taken last Sunday so I hope the freezing temperatures this week haven’t damaged them! 🤞 #foliagefriday #photinia #evergreen #springiscoming 💚
Fabulous Barbara.., mines ok further up the coast 👍🏻
They’re pretty tough shrubs so my bet is that this one will be fine! 👍 @juliesgarden 😘
I have to admit Barbara I didn’t realise they flowered. I’ve just had a look at your past posts when it’s been in full flower and it looks absolutely fabulous 🌸
It looks magnificent in the spring, Karen, but it can be boring for the rest of the year as it’s just green! However it’s great for hiding fences and giving privacy from neighbouring windows so it’s one of the backbone shrubs in my garden. 💚❤️ @KOutdoors
Morning Barbara
Afternoon Jason! 😂😂 @hebelover
