I have tried (and failed!) so many times to grow penstemon but I seem to have found the perfect place for this one. It’s by the edge of the path in very poor soil but it’s thriving! #penstemon #pink #perennial #nevergiveup 💚

@Jacaranda Love this one the colours inside are glorious. Funny things Penstamon they either grow like weeds or not at all. This one is very happy.

Lovely Barbara….. I saw on telly last week that the old growth is best left on until the spring to keep the roots busy and definately need well drained soil.

In the past I’ve tried, unsuccessfully, to grow #penstemon but I’m giving them another go this year. I really hope they’ll like growing amongst the roses as I love the colour of these ones 💕 If at first you don’t succeed #trytryagain #mygardentoday 07/07/2019

That's a lovely colour too fingers crossed once they get established there will be no stopping them easy to do cuttings if you think you might loose them ❤💕❤

I’ve not tried cuttings before, Keely. When do you do them? @Keely 🤔

You can do them now if you can get a side shoot that's not flowering, they take pretty well this time of year bit of grit n compost n don't put in full sun should do the job 🙆😊
