Our creative adventure began in 1999, a new house and a bare plot. We were part of the NGS family for 10 years. Now we’re sitting back and relaxing!

It’s pretty chilly here this morning, more like October than August, but the #hydrangea is loving the cooler weather. #hydrangea-villosa #pink #mygardentoday 💚

It’s damp in the garden and greenhouse and I was wondering why … it’s 13 here - don’t hydrangeas like the heat?

It doesn’t have many flowers but the ones it does have are very striking 💕 @godfreye @pelly

I have quite a few different hydrangeas, Sharon, and they’re all in shady areas. I find that too much sun scorches the leaves. They certainly enjoy lots of water so the recent wet weather has suited them perfectly! 👍 @sharonhayden

Think I probably need to water mine more they are shaded most of the day but get morning and evening sun … I remember you’re a keen waterer 😂

I’m not sure about being a keen waterer, Sharon! The majority of my garden has to fend for itself and I only water my pots when the plants are drooping 🤣🤣🤣 @sharonhayden

Oh I can’t wait. No sign of flowers on mine yet but hoping it does better than last year when I took advice from a “specialist” online and essentially pruned the flower buds off 😳🙄😂

The #hydrangea is HUGE this year 😳 It obviously loved the rain but now it needs sunshine to make the flowers pop! #foliagefriday #hydrangea-aspera #green #mygardentoday 💚

Looks fantastic, I planted 2 hydrangeas this year but they are small and have a ways to go to look as beautiful as yours👍

Thanks Thelma. This is a large leaved variety so it looks enormous even when it’s young, although this one is about 15 years old now! @crabby58 😀

An unusual #hydrangea in #mygardentoday as the leaves are large and velvety. Thanks to @jennielorraine for her post which enabled me to identify mine!!! #ngsgarden
