Our creative adventure began in 1999, a new house and a bare plot. In 2012 we opened for the NGS. https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden/garden/26064/

Not a good start to #wildlifewednesday finding three of my four #cobaea plants have been eaten! 😢 If I trim the stems back will I get new growth or do I give up this year and throw them on the compost heap? 🤔 #grownfromseed #eatenbyslugs #timetogiveup #onelasttry #mygardentoday 07/08/2019

I imagine you would Barbara but doubt they would Flower this year. Worth a try.

Thanks Nicola. If I cut them back it might be worth trying to overwinter them so that they get a good start next year. 🤞 @jendren

I'd try and save them, if the roots are ok hopefully they'll grow back 🤔🤔

You might need to check the soil though, 75% of slugs are there!

You’re right, Jane and Val. I’ll have a good look at the roots, check for slugs and then repot if necessary. 😘😘 @pelly @valjones-hughes

Give them another shot, they are pretty tough, mine were still flowering in November last year. Once they get going nothing will get in their way.

They don’t look much at the moment but to me they’re a joy to behold! I sowed six seeds on May 27th and having read lots of comments on here I didn’t expect to see any sign of life for weeks, if at all!!! #cobaea #cupandsaucervine #seeds #mygreenhouse 12/06/2019

I’m amazed that they germinated so quickly, Sarah, but I’m not sure I’ll get flowers this year 😢 @sieveheadsarah

When did you plant them, Celina, and how long did it take for them to germinate? Do you think we’ll get flowers this year? 🤔🤔🤔 @cee

You may do Barbara, they do grow pretty fast and will flower quite late into the year if it's warm, my Mum brought hers into the conservatory for winter and had flowers in December 😀👍🏼😀

Sounds promising, Sarah 😍 I can bring mine indoors later in the year if I have to so 🤞🤞🤞🤞 @sieveheadsarah

Good question! I’ve no idea 🤣🤣 How is your Mum’s one growing? Is it on canes or on a small trellis that can be brought inside? @sieveheadsarah 🤔😘

It's in a large pot with some sort of frame. Mine's also in a big pot with a few canes but it's growing up a wall, the tendrils will stick to anything Barbara, which is great, I'll have to give it a good trim when I bring it in though.
