Maybe just use those ant granules in the dirt. Or just dig it up so they don't mess with the bulbs. Because if you cut it back and the ants r in the dirt they'll maybe eat the bulbs. Can u see where there trail is, the ants maybe look real early when the ants are more active and follow them unless u see the ant mound

That would work I don't think it'd hurt them I don't think they'll b anymore blooms somebody had a spray where they put alittle bleach but Moore.794 said only alittle in a gallon of water cause u don't want any ants or eggs in the part with the bulbs I'd ask Moore.794 or@cynde@moore.794

@Moore.794@cyndi Hannahchristine my daughter has ants all up in her Cannas she thinking of cutting them and getting the bulbs and moving because of ants in the dirt in that area but I was wondering, what if any eggs or a few ants are on what she's transplanting so any good advice I think she should spray or something before she replants them

Go with cyndi. A good spraying or soaking will get rid of ants. Diatomaceous earth will help with problem. Where do you live? Do you dig your cannas for winter? Knowing where you are can help decide what info. Is good for your situation. Remember anything you use to kill will hurt others. Poision goes into our water as well as killing good insects. @hannahchristine

@terrimclaughlin the teaspoon bleach to gallon water is for sterilizing cuttings and bulbs. Not for insects

@Moore.794@cyndi Thxs for the great remedies. Hannahchristine lived in San Antonio Texas she's my daughter and we don't pull up the bulbs here. That's why I was worried it might be in the dirt. Thxs good information cyndi email me --mclaughlint13@yahoo.com
