Located with a distant view of the River Deben in Suffolk and open to meadows. I am trying to merge the garden with the wild indigenous plants.
#wildlifewednesday this butterfly’s wings look like it may have survived a few bird attacks! Verbena is such a great plant for wildlife late into the year.
Lovely to see a Red Admiral butterfly in November!
#latebloomer verbena still going strong and enjoying lovely morning sun
They last right to the very end..love them! 💜💜
One of my favourite plants dotted around the garden and all self seeded 👍
Verbena so difficult to photograph even in a light breeze, but I love the way the flower heads dance around
@gjones thank you g👍
Self-seeded verbena seedlings I potted up a couple of weeks ago are ready to be planted out once it’s a bit cooler🥵
Potted on dozens of verbena seedling that self-seeded in a 14 inch pot….. hope to create a bit of a swathe next year like Monty’s!
Ooh, that'll look fab👍
Your going to be rather busy 😁
That'll look great 💜💜💜
@cee @pelly @vegandmore just got to get them all big enough to fend for themselves now 😃
Last of the verbena still going strong #latebloomer
Monty is right..... they are looking good at the moment!
Monty is always right ! 😁Looking good David 💜💜
It’s definitely a must have I wouldn’t be without them either! 😍💜
I collected dozens of seedlings self set on my patio that are now growing well in clumps..... should look stunning next season.
One of the few plants that are thriving in the drought here in Suffolk..... fabulous plant 🤩
They are hardy and beautiful
Oh no, you've got a drought 😱such a shame we can't send you some West Yorkshire rain. It's wet through out there 💦☔☔☔
Much more welcome here than on my cabbages!
Very beautiful 😍
Delightful pic David 👍
Beautiful photo 💚😊
@islima @mich @columbiariver thanks very much for your kind comments
Lovely plant and the bees & butterflies like it too!
#latebloomer How does verbena manage to stay in bloom for over six months? 3.11.19
The plant that just keeps giving..... from spring to autumn!
It really does!
@Davidward Do you prune it at all?
@carmen-sylva I only prune away occasional dead stalks Roxanna
@valjones-hughes @linfoster @christineb we must start a Verbena appreciation society! 😍
Seems to be more prolific this year...... some plants over 6ft tall #beefriendly 30th July 2019
They're doing the same thing here. Extremely tall! Beautiful pic
@columbiariver thanks Laura
#wildlifewednesday- 17th July 2019
Incredible picture ...... love it.
Self seeded verbena I left to fight it out for space looking good..... much smaller and compact than individual plants 16th August

@linfoster thanks Lin.... looks so good on a plain backdrop
Love Verbena..... such a tough plant.
One of my faves too
I have so many self-seeded verbena, I thought I would leave these to the survival of the fittest and see what happens!
@linfoster it must be your northern climate Lin!
