We have it too. The deers love it, and they use it to decorate garden pots to protect from frost.

@grantham how do you tell by the bark? Whether there is lichen or not? Or some other way?🤔

@purplebird they say life long learning. Most of our trees have plaques with names on. However when they were done we were told that the white paint like spots on the bark and branches are lichens. And the whiteness shows you how healthy the environment is. A lichen is a fungus and an Alga.
