Potted up version. #cobweb #houseleek #succulent #tryingtosaveit #overwatered

@columbiariver oh dear I don't see any baby's!! I would, when the blooms are done is cut it off just above the rocks and hope for the best!😟

Ok Shelley. Thank you. @ShelleySnyder

So a question @columbiariver @ShelleySnyder do the flowers really look and feel like straw like the ones in the stores this always seemed to me that they where glued on??

@janelleabella my flowers don't feel like straw, I don't think they look like straw either@columbiariver I think you might be looking more at cactus maybe💘😍

Yes I am @ShelleySnyder oops ,your right again!!👍😆

I know what you're talking about Janelle. I had a hard time getting over the fact that cactus companies glue those hideous bright straw flowers on a nice healthy plant. Irks me! @janelleabella Are they trying to make people think those are the blooms?

Those where my thoughts so I never bought one @columbiariver I'm learning to much to fast my brain is gonna pop lol

I understand Janelle! I have not had much of a memory to speak of, at least I thought, until I came here and for some reason this stuff sticks. I think because I enjoy it. @janelleabella

@ Im lucky to remember get dressed some days lol

Another new one to me, I have hens and chickens, but they're just "regular" ones, not cool blooming ones like these! Lol

Help! Does it look like the base is unhealthy? Maybe too much water? Anyone? @lovestogarden

Boy the flower color is pretty. Yep. I would dig it up and see if there is rot. You may need to pot it with extra Perlite. They do not like wet.

Thanks Janice. I'll do it @lovestogarden

I'm killin it Dar @SikoMa

Lol. Welcome to my World, Laura😩😂

I thought when they flower they die?

I hadn't heard of that Jenn. I think fly traps do. We are not sure what to expect next with this tho. Lol! @jennlamaye

@columbiariver I think my hens and chicks die after they bloom... but maybe each variety is different...

Shelley, have you had these guys? What happens next please? I've potted up the whole thing. I should put a pic up. I just don't know what to do next. Does it indeed die? @jennlamaye @ShelleySnyder

@columbiariver yes I have them, and my are so thick that the blooming ones that do die, you don't even notice a gap in em. Hopefuly you'll have some baby's left💘😍

@Acetaker I wanted to show you what's happening with this guy. The tips of the fingers are getting ready to explode. Cool huh?

WOW!! LAURA!! IT'S COOL!😎😍

I know it! I'm super excited to see what happens. Notice I added rocks! @acetaker

Looks good with the rocks, Laura. You have so much going on in your yard/garden!

Thanks Leslie. Last few days have been crazy with getting in all the flower seed I wanted to plant, plus my tiny seedlings needed to go in. Fun work tho!

#cobweb Planted in the ground. #ihopeitmakesitthruwinter

@columbiariver ooooooh! Nice! What's the zone on it?💘😍

3 - 10 Shelley. I don't have a rock garden so this will have to do. I'm keeping a piece in a pot in case it doesn't make it. @ShelleySnyder

@columbiariver if the zone goes as low as 3 you should have no problem!💘 it sure is a cutie!

It should be ok. I fail terribly at succulents. I've been strongly encouraged to plant in the ground by another Gtags friend. So I did it. @ShelleySnyder @Acetaker

Great Job! It needed to be where it could get sun, that's y the wierd shape but I'm sure u were told that. U don't have to have a rock garden girl. I've planted different plants together. Just gather u some rock and place it around and under it so it won't be right on soil(will keep from moist soil from rain etc and give it ventilation, they love the heat.

It's been outside in the sun in a pot. I believe the weird shape is just normal summer growth Chris. It's going to do something fantastic now! I'll keep you posted. @Acetaker

Cool plz do!😊

Sometimes when they do this they bloom, Ive read that after they bloom the mother plant or the "hen" dies and the "chicks" live on which is why theyre also called a #sempervivum which means to live forever. :)

Thank you Brandon. Good to know. It's very interesting to watch the process and learn. Starting to appreciate succulents more and more. @toddbrandino

#cobweb my son's brought me gifts for mother's day! They did good. I can't kill this. #mysonsrock #greatgift #help
These are going in the wide gravel steps to the front door. #sempervivum #hensandchicks 4.11.18
Love them all Laura!!💘😍
Any planting suggestions Shelley? My second time planting these. First one (last year) didn't make it @ShelleySnyder
Oh dear I may not be the best to ask, I just plant mine in regular garden soil and they seem to do just fine! I don't want to give you bad advise!🤔💘😍
What a fine collection 👌
Thank you Jeff. I hope I do them right. @jeatacake
They look very right to me! 😁👌
That’ll look fab Laura! I think they like very gritty soil...more grit than soil! But @angiecrazycatlady will know!
They’ll look great! 😊
They need to be in very free draining soil preferably in sun but these can take a bit of shade. They don't need much nutrition at all and can grow well in a very small amount of poor soil. I think they'll look great in gravel you'll have to post a pic when planted up 😁
Gorgeous collage 👏😍
Thank you Rachel and Angie. I'll have a pic soon! I'm going to put some succulent soil over the gravel to help them get a start. Should be easy peasy! We'll see though! Xoxo @rachelbrooks @angie
