One of the 3 bareroot #icebergrose I planted late winter is blooming already. Wow! 6-25-17

How pretty

@columbiariver it's a real beauty !!💘😍 how hot did you end up getting? We made it to 100 here today in Renton!! Too hot for me!!😝😥

Why thank ya, Leslie and Shelley. I love these. It hit 100, back down to 99 now. But no humidity to speak of. Whew! @lesliecole49 @ShelleySnyder

Woohoo! Once it pops it won't stop! 👍🏼👏🏼👍🏼😉 aren't they gorgeous blooms too?!

#roseadvice I'm really new with roses. I don't know what I'm doing or how I want to train this lovely. Lattice is part of a pergola type archway. This is left side. My giant trumpet creeper rests atop the right side. They will eventually meet at top and fight it out. Which I think will look amazing. Should I just go straight up this outside lattice? Guess I don't have a choice if I keep her here. Help! I'm rambling!

I think, if you train the braches as horizontally as possible, you will get more flowering shoots.

You don't if that's where you want her Laura, you won't be able to train her horizontally. Just tie the stems in as they grow up the trellis. Mine is growing up and over a pergola and is not trained, it produces masses of flowers every year! It's quite rampant though! 👍🏼

I remember it Rachel! Just straight up will do the trick then? Thanks ever so much. @rachelbrooks

I'm looking forward to having one I can train horizontally Mona. Hopefully someday. Thank you. @emve

I always think that in the 'wild' they do their own thing Laura so I tend to just tie in where it needs a bit of support and then let them get on with it! 👍🏼

Im kind of on the "wild" side too

Will you leave it in the pot?

Yes I will Leslie. It's a bare spot that has always been missing something. It's also in the view from kitchen window. It's a new idea to me, but if it needs to be moved later we can cut it back and try again. But I think it will be ok for a few years. @lesliecole49

I probably didn't say that right. I just meant if you sort of bend each branch instead of just letting it go straight up. You'll still go upwards, just not quite as fast, and you'll end up with flowers lower down and not just at the top.

Thank you Mona. I think it would be good if I used as much width of the lattice as possible when tying up. It would be nice to to get some lower blooms. I'll work with her and post progress pics. @emve

Playing catch up,again 🙄 I have this one. Can't wait for flowers. We just put up some wires to hopefully train it horizontally. They seem to do well just growing straight up too, so just a little bit of sidewards training should help too. Will have to compare notes 👍😊

2-24-17 white iceberg climbing rose #2

I'm thinking of planting one of these too, have heard great things about them😃

Have you? That's good to know. I'm not sure about them, but the price was good enough at home depot, I was able to get these and a climbing peace rose. Let me know if you get one. @riakat

I have one growing as a standard it flowers really well and in our humid climate is practically disease free. I hope you are happy with it I can see little shoots already. 😊

I bought one a couple of weeks ago Laura. Others on here have had great results. It seems to do well 👍

My mum has one that's about 20 years old and every year I marvel at its performance and perfume , just bought it myself too 👍👍👍

Love. Love. Love. 💚

Nice choice Laura. I was going to tag you Rachel to see if you saw this! 🤗 @rachelbrooks

Oh yes Susie!! 👍🏼😉 but thanks for the thought! 😍 @susieg

Now I'm more excited! @errolly @susanhumphrey333 @juliesgarden @rachelbrooks @susieg
