Hi Laura. Hope y’all are well. I’m sorry you lost you big sweet black dog. It’s so hard and sad when you lose your champion. I lost Delilah after 12/12 yrs. anyway I was going to start seeding in my greenhouse. I was worried it’s to early. I can’t remember. So it’s not to early. I really need to get back with my plants????

Hi Terri! Thank you so much. I've really missed Apple this morning. It is very hard. But we muddle through. So sorry to hear about your Delilah 🐾🐾❤️ they leave big paw prints on our heart. 💚 IDK what I'm doing. Don't do what I do. I'm a crazy gardener. 😂 I put these seeds in to cook because I read that black mondo seeds need to be immediately sown from leaving the plants for best results. Since my Mondo's are right outside the green house and heavy with seeds I decided they must know better

I have my two German Shepherds cremated in urns right next to each other with their leache’s braided and wrapped around each other. We’ll always miss them. I’m excited to get back to my green house I’ve lost well over half my plants caring for my mother but it’s ok

Bless your heart ❤️ Sometimes you have to let things go. You've done a wonderful thing Terri. My gardens were neglected this spring and summer because Apple needed our attention 24/7. We buried her here. Made a gravestone and planted japanese forest grass all around it (she loved grass) and many flowersers for her in spring. I bought a small black dog statue that sits there too 💗 @terrimclaughlin

I'll be getting more mondo grass too. As I mowed last time I noticed several blooming around the yard that I did not realize were there! I didn't plant them and they are in odd places. I'll try digging them up and moving them too

They can be invasive Leslie. I haven't found it to be true here yet, but one persons "invasive" is another person's "spreading beautifully". @lesliecole49

Well, that would only add to the rest of the invasive plants I inherited with this place. But I could do with spreads beautifully. They're small enough to dig out or mow

There are berries all along my pasture lines so I'm always digging them out of random places in my yard area! I love the birds but dang I wish they'd quit pooping in my yard! 🤣

I understand that. I have chickens roaming too. But Iv e been delving into audobon and I want to do more planting for birds. The poop doesn't bother me. So be careful where you sit 🤣😂🤪 @lesliecole49

As we were getting ready to leave Shelley's garden yesterday her hubby grabbed a shovel and was saying things like 'take some of this, it's everywhere!' 'No really take this'. We couldn't resist #blackmondograss. Found my weak spot, they did! #booty #bagofbooty #thankyoushelleyandgary What a day! What an app @usgardentags ! #thankyougardentags 8.2.18

#blackmondograssseeds #score I'm going to look up whoever has grown them on gtags by searching hashtags. Just a warning. Otherwise I'm following the advice of thegardenhelper.com. So I put them in water til tomorrow. http://www.thegardenhelper.com/black_mondo.html

I've purchased one of the small black Mondo's. Last autumn I split it like crazy. If they're all surviving I should have several plants now. Plus these fellas @ShelleySnyder

I have read somewhere that they should be planted very fresh. I think that makes seed hard to find. Not sure tho Deanna. If yours produces seed you could try it! @ladeebug

Sounds lovely. I went with a friend to pick out some plants today and put her black Mondo's with lavender and yellow perennial viola, dark purple bugleweed and a chartreuse Japanese grass. They went together beautifully. The two grasses together are just great. @ladeebug

I dug my one plant up and divided it into many. Hoping for many more of these and I'm getting babies?! They will make a great border edge in spring. #mondo #blackmondograss

@pauline33 has used it as a border and of course hers is phenomenal! I don't expect miracles. So I might try to do a little of it. It winters well here and did very well in the dry summer too. Very hardy, so I just can't resist. I love care free plants. Thank you for the beautiful example Pauline. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery 💕👌😚 right? @susanhumphrey333 @rachelbrooks @jpea
