Yesss!! I hope you love this as much as I love mine! It puts on a wonderful show 😍 A favorite for sure

I absolutely love it 🤩 @jmlincoln I'm not going to dig them up

Oolala!! What a beauty!💘😍

You're a brave one! I'm worried we'll have a colder winter from this warm summer. I'd be the crazy lady out in a snow storm digging up her dahlias 🤣

She's gorgeous💛💛😍

Beautiful Laura

Thanks for re-posting. It didn't show in the feed, but I saw it when I used your #honeymoon tag.

#bestofseptember

Mystery Dahlia. I think we have a morph. Almost looks like Matilda without her star like quality. Oh well. Dahlia's aren't our thing I guess.

Itβs a gorgeous colour Laura 😍😍

Thank you Jane. It is. It's just not the same as last year. @pelly

Its so pretty

Well sheβs gorgeous. But I have the same with one of mine Laura...started off cream and pale pink a couple of years ago, itβs now bright pink and yeller! 🤷🏻ββοΈ

It's a beauty ours over here are really struggling with lack of rain water 😮

Very pretty

We've dug up the Dahlia's. Not the best weather for it, but oh well. Drying them a little before we store them in a bin of wood shavings for winter. #dahliacare

They look very clean. In the clay soil here, it's almost impossible to get them looking so pristine. Must get mine dug up soon, but no frost yet.

Jeff, I cleaned them even further and separated the mother bulb. I understand that the mother bulb is most likely to rot in winter storage, which might, in turn, effect the bunch. I didn't know this. Also didnt know the tubers can't touch each other in storage. I'm learning so much. Hope you have time to get to yours before frost. If not, can't you leave yours in ground? Its milder in UK winters than here. @jeatacake

https://www.thespruce.com/how-to-store-dahlia-tubers-for-winter-2132882

I didn't know that either. No, it is too cold & wet to leave them in the ground here. They have been very disappointing in the last 2 years, so I may only save those in tubs & pots, by moving them into the greenhouse.

I don't blame you. If those in pots do well id put them in the green house and avoid the others. I think this is the most laborious project I've had for the garden. Time consuming for sure. But beautiful rewards 🌿👌 @jeatacake

I agree, very time consuming but worth it if they reward you well. I think they may not like the clay soil here, as they did much better in the ground at my old house & in tubs here.

The rain poured and poured all night long. What a fantastic sound it was! 💧💦💖💦💧Take that you nasty fire! #eaglecreekfire #mangomadness

@columbiariver woopee!! We got some yesterday and it's still raining today! It isn't pouring but it is raining! I just want it to pour on the 🔥's!!!👍👍💘😍

We don't do well without our rain here in the NW do we?. I don't know how many days we went without, but far too many @ShelleySnyder

Awe that's great news for you all soo pleased that rain will dampen the fires spirit 🙆🙆🙆

We're all 🙏👌👌 that it makes difference and you can start the recovery

Yes Keely. It smells a little like wet fire and we love it! @Keely

It has already helped JP. Our trees are all soaked. No chance of much spread now. @jpea

That's great news, though as sometimes happens I hope you don't get too much, that just wouldn't be fair 😳

Flash floods and landslides are expected for awhile. We are more accustom to dealing with these things. We don't have to travel further into the gorge except for grandsons football games. Should be OK. Our home is on rock. @jpea

Excellent news so happy for y'all

Yaaay , so pleased you finally have rain βοΈ Laura and no more wild fires 🔥

It was the first good sleep in weeks. So done with too hot weather and fire. @cyndi @juliesgarden

Dahlias first blooms today 9/6/17. #fireflowers #eccentric #patches #dahlia #prayforrain #doaraindance #weneedrain Fire zero % contained. Going away from our home now. Very ugly. 30,000 acres now. Only one home burned, no other structures, no deaths.

I'm relieved to hear you are still safe, but the devastation is awful Laura. Xx

Blooming hell praying for, rain dancing for you its good to hear from you stay safe x x

Glad to hear your safe and no deaths.. Come on down pours..we need these put out asap..come on mother nature hear our pleas.. Xoxo

Thank goodness Laura 😊 So glad you're alright & the threat has gone now. 👍. The dahlias are coming out in celebration too 😀

Its incredible. Nothing we thought we'd ever see. Columbia river gorge changed forever. @pelly @carolgs @cyndi

I saw that on IG there are so many people sharing before pics and some of what's going on now..forever changed so sad..

It must be heartbreaking Laura

Glad your OK such a shame the gorge will never be the sane again 🙁

I know it Keely. Such a shame. Counting on some of your UK rain to come shower us. Dryest summer I recall. @Keely

@columbiariver so sorry Laura!!💘😍 😠😠😠 Dang fire!!!

How's your air @ShelleySnyder ?

Matilda has arrived in full! Good saturday morning everyone! Our heat wave is fizzling out. Yesterday's 96 was much more tolerable than the previous days *106. I've got some plants in the soaker tub trying to pull them back from heat damage.

This dahlia has certainly done well in the heat 👍😍

@columbiariver I sure hope it's gonna fizzle!! I hate the hot!!! I had a couple of hanging pots that didn't fair to well! Enjoy your day!!💘😍

She sure has! All of them are looking great. They seem to love it hot! @jeatacake

Well I suppose it may be as they originate from Mexico?

@columbiariver we have had the same but cooled off a little and now climbing temps again. Got the first rain last night in about 12 days. Beautiful Dahlia. Do you dig them up every year or just leave them in the ground?

Wow its a stunner 💕💕💕

I think we've been about 49 days with no rain Mark. Its not typical Oregon weather. Obviously. We're known for being rainy. It will pass. The dahlias I will dig up. We have very cold winters and we have lots of critters underground that may eat them or push them up. And I am looking forward to digging them to see how many bulbs they have put on for next year @maldavis

@columbiariver any chance I might get one if she adds on? I had a couple that would come back each year but the cold finally got them. I only have one little red one now.

It's gorgeous Laura..fab colour! 💗👌

I'd be more than happy to send you one. This is perfect because I wanted to send you something before winter. Not sure what I've done with your address. My email is prettyfallday@outlook.com. @maldavis

Lovely I havent seen these before 😊

Beverly, I've missed you. Glad to see you back. I hope you are well. This is such a different flower. Very fun one @errolly

Hi Laura thank you I am well my husband has been ill but is a lot better now I am pleased I didnt realise I missed his help so much. Your garden is looking lovely worth the effort.

I'm glad your husband is doing better. I'm sure you missed his help that would be tough! Nice to visit. Thanks for the compliment, things are getting colorful! 😍 @errolly

That looks like it'll be quite unusual and beautiful at the same time! Sorry, I'm falling behind with some posts - our house is full right now- every bed being used- trying to adjust to people coming and going-making meals everyone might like- doing scads of laundry- and gardening! At least I have lots of people to do the dishes😂

You must be running on empty. Its great to provide a place big enough for everyone. We have the guests in spurts and we are descended upon at Christmas too. I enjoy the hussle and bussel. It is very exhausting to me tho and couldnt do it for long. But you on the other hand! Go get 'em! Enjoy @gjones
