Cedar elegans and Japanese anemone. Trimmed a lot of layers out of elegans and it looks so much better @awomanonabike #japanesecedar #conifer #evergreen #japaneseanemone

Yes, it's much airier and prettier too. Thank you for the suggestion. The anemone are sure faithful plants. They've been here for decades 💚 @awomanonabike

I haven’t done anything to mine this year but will probably trim it again next year - and possibly transplant some anemones in front of it too 😉👍

Lol. They are a beautiful conifer. I have never figured out anemone seeds or I'd send you some my friend. I love seeing plants we all have in common 💚 @awomanonabike

Don’t worry I have a big patch that is getting a bit too big so will try to remember and move some. Thank you for the thought though 😘

Elegans compacta was a free plant at the garden center. Scroll over to see it. Now we're trying to think of a better place for it to grow. Not sure how big it will get. #conifer #cedar #japanese-cedar #coniferla

That's grown lots Laura, will it survive a move??

2w

columbiariver

Not sure but most likely it will if we wait for the rain. I just read that it gets to be 2 meters, roughly 6ft. So maybe I don't need to worry about moving it. It's nearly there now @sieveheadsarah

It looks nice where it is, I don't know anything about cedars but could it be thinned out, to give it an airy look???

Hey Laura I just looked at your first post of this and the tag says 10 to 25ft. 🤔 It sure is cool looking!💘😍

That’s exactly what I did with mine Sarah. I’ll tag you Laura so you can see what I did @sieveheadsarah

It sure does. 10 to 15 ft. I think it might be ok at 15 ft. If I trim some of the density out maybe it wont have as much problem in the wind. It would be less of a sail that catches air. Another consideration is fire danger, being close to the house. Wasn't a known concern when I got it. @shelleysnyder @awomanonabike

January 16 2018 *49f If only you could see it up close. It is gorgeous now. It was a free and nearly dead plant last summer. The foliage has not stopped changing color. It's like a rainbow. It's soft to touch and so full of life now. It is growing into an odd shape. I like odd. #saveaplant #conifer #japanese-cedar #evergreen #elegans-compacta
