Oh no! A casualty. Two broken branches from the weight of ice and snow. 1.16.2020 I think it's too close to the dryer vent, which I thought would be good for it. #manzanita #strawberrytree

🤭 hopefully can be pruned off and not effect itโs shape too much

Lol. You don't want this lin? @linfoster

This is one of two breaks. I've discovered that the plants closest to the house on all sides,(some I've placed there for warmth) have experienced more ice than snow. Away from the warmth is powder snow. Lesson learned. @richard.spicer.7906

#strawberry-tree is doing fine in a big pot. Great little flowers when you look up close #tree #treela 10.28.19

Theyโre beautiful, do you eat the berries ?

I don't @sabbanrula .

This is Awesome 😍 fragrant?

Not to my knowledge. I haven't sniffed it, but I should! @tinaaune

Like little lanterns 😍😍

Tiny little lanterns Jane 💚 @pelly

Beautiful! Is it hardy? 💚🙂

Fairy lampshades....😘

I love the bark on these especially when they mature, so many seasons of interest on one plant 💚โค๏ธ

Its questionable here Ulrika. It mostly grows closer to the Pacific Ocean (100 miles west)where it's a little warmer but I wanted to try one here. We'll see. This will be its second winter here. @ulrikagustafsson

So cute Elaine @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Planted the spirea. I needed a spot for the strawberry tree. #worksforme #spirea #strawberrytree #manzanita #ajuga #pot #bluepot #perennialla 4.14.19

These trees are beautiful, going to have to add to my wish list now 😛

Strawberry fields forever...🍓🎶 Oh, wrong strawberry😁

Oh! That's so pretty!

Thank you. I'm looking forward to watching it through winter (if we have one). @gjones

Was wondering where the red fruit was Laura 🍓🍓🍓🤣🤣👌🏼

Love this tree, but don't go much on the flavour of its strawberry though 🍓 🤔😂

Does it really matter, the Beatles were the best ever!! Now I'm showing my age Laura 😂😂

Sounds like you're in for a very mild winter. We haven't had snow for the past month because we had some nice warm temps in October. However, temps are getting cooler now and we expect snow will start to fall within the next couple of weeks. Winters don't really bother us as we prepare for the cold and snow and know it'll only last a few months.😊

I was looking at buying one of these today. Theyโre beautiful trees โค๏ธ look forward to seeing yours progress 😁

I guess it's not time yet Elaine! You goof! 🍓😂😘 @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom

Lol! I didn't know you could eat them. You mean they're not just tree jewels Carol? @carolgs

Not going to get an argument from me when it comes to the Beatles. Have you seen them in concert?👀 I've had penny lane in my head for days now Jane. Don't know why? 🤔 @pelly💟

Never know how the winter will go here. We're always ready for the very cold. You have to be. But you know how warm it's been @gjones

I finally got a variety of Manzanita. Known as Pacific Madrone. I'd like to get it's bark showing so I think I need to trim some foliage low on the plant. Your experience is welcome, please. #arbutusunedo #pacificmadrone #manzanita #pnwnative #strawberrytree #native 6.30.18

Are you having it as a multi stem or single!? Id probably take of the lower ones leaving the 4 more upright

Exactly the shape I'm going for. Where should I make the cut Carol? Thank you ever so much @carolgs

Take it back to half an inch from main stem, you can always remove more, just on the one left and is it 3 lower ones, you could gently push them down to see how it would look before cutting

Bless you Carol! I definitely don't want a bush. I'll get a good look first before cutting. Have a nice weekend @carolgs. Hug the kiddos!

Remember you can always cut more off its more difficult to put it back on!!

Stupid question alert - can you eat them?
I hear you can but they're not very tasty Charlotte @charlotte
So cool โผ๏ธ
Thank you Dee โบ๏ธ 💚 @ladeebug
I love this plant. Beautiful bark, flowers, and fruit. (The latter I enjoy snacking on!)
It is a treat to have this. From one weirdo to another @misternatureboy
