#white #hydrangea-petiolaris
Nice photo - yours looks lovely and healthy- mine’s suffered from dry weather this spring.

Thanks Darroch. Mine has a bit too, and a very late frost but you can’t tell as I cropped the brown bits off 🙄😉😂 @darroch

16 Sep 2019 • I was at the top of a very high ladder so I could cut this #hydrangea-petiolaris and pull it out from under the barn roof, but something had got there before me. No idea what. Mice?! Any ideas anyone? 🐭 🍃

Hmmm 🤔 what eats hydrangeas?

Weird isn’t it Leslie. Whatever it is it’s just nibbled the leaves not the stems and only at the very top 🤔🤔 @lesliecole49

Birds perhaps? Pigeons?

🤔 We do have a couple of pigeons. Why would they just take them from the top? 😉 I suppose the roof and gutter gives them somewhere to stand 🤔 Weird! @joanboston

They will be the most tender!

Of course! They’ve already massacred my new wallflowers 😢 @joanboston

They are a nuisance been attacking my hollyhock seedlings

Oh no! How are you protecting them? @joanboston

A bit of netting over them till they get a bit bigger Jacqueline

Should have done that to my wallflowers 🙈 @joanboston

16 Apr 2019 • I love how fresh the leaves are on this #hydrangea-petiolaris 💚

I am thinking of a climbing hydrangea lovely to see the colour

It’s a lovely climber Sarah, and self-clinging too so you don’t have to go to all the bother of a trellis or wires 👍 Welcome to GardenTags @MudCakeswine

Mines looking lush this year too, can't wait for it to flower 😀👍🏼

30 Aug 18 • Had a bit of a tidy up. Mainly cutting back the flowered shoots so we can get through the door!

Looks good. Is this one evergreen?

Wow, it's huge, how big is it @awomanonabike 😀

No Teresa this loses its leaves, but they look lovely before they fall 🍂 @TeresaH

If I left it it would go over the roof...It’s at least 15’ high as it is. @sieveheadsarah

That’s amazing! Has it grown 15’ this season?

That’s fabulous! 💚

Sounds like you had a busy day Jacqueline 👍👍

No Kerry, it must be about 25 years old but it does try to put on at least a couple of feet every year! @kez001uk

Thanks Rachel. You’ll be able to tell if it is for real soon 😊😊😊 @rachelbrooks

I’ve been away Jane and the garden is definitely getting away from me now 😱 @pelly

I have no doubt it is 😘

8 Jun 2018 • Now this is in flower I remember its unusual perfume Rachel - fruity and earthy. It’s also buzzing with #bees @rachelbrooks

Perfect!

Gorgeous 😍😍

The flowers really are like little stars 🌟 @rachelbrooks

It is flowering incredibly well this year Jane. Perhaps because I had to cut half of it down last year 🤔 @pelly

Aren’t they?! I love them!

They do have an odd perfume though don’t they 🤔 @rachelbrooks

It’s different but I quite like it. Like an old fashioned cologne...

Today I decided it was a bit like elderflower @rachelbrooks

I can’t remember what elderflower smells like...🤔 I should. My Nana used to collect them all the time!

A bit like hydrangea petiolaris 🙄😬 @rachelbrooks

I knew you were gonna say that!!! 🤣🤣🤣

4 Jun 2018 • Some plants I take for granted. This is one, but it’s really rather lovely 💚

It's lovely, but you've aged us all by 10 years 😂🤔😂

😂😂😂😂 ...quick edit. Phew! @sieveheadsarah

I’ve put this on my wish list earlier today 👍👍

How long did it take to grow this big?😊

How lovely Jacqueline. Plenty of room for it there. Mine is on the front of the house and it really needs to go 😒

That’s a lovely specimen! Yes, how old is it? 🤔 mine has taken nearly ten years just to reach the top of the fence panel! 🙄

Good choice Jane @pelly

Hi Maria, It was here when we moved in 20 years ago. It gets a heavy prune every so often when it tries to grow inside the barn 😂 @plxaer

Thanks Rachel. More than 20 years I’m afraid. They do like rain... 😂 @rachelbrooks

Thanks Sue. That’s a shame. They are really good for covering a wall - but only if there are no windows 😂 @susanhumphrey333

Well mine is in the damp shady corner so it should suit it perfectly. To be fair, it has sped up a bit the last couple of years. I knew I was in for the long haul! 🙄😂

Of course I haven't got round to trimming off the spent flowers... I think they are rather lovely though. (It is #hydrangea-petiolaris - there is a typo in the GT library).

Is there a way of editing/correcting the plant entries @teamgardentags ?

Don't know about climbing ones, but I aways leave my heads on until the frosts have passed. I think i read its something about protecting the new buds..... @awomanonabike

Sounds good to me. The RHS says to prune back by removing flower heads immediately after flowering but I rarely do and it is doing fine @gailybob

I always leave them on...I think they're lovely like this!

Unfortunately there's no way to edit a plant entry after creation. 😕

Hmm! That's a bit annoying isn't it? @brightcolours

Yup! @ukgardentags

There should also be a "don't like" button 😉 @brightcolours

And a "WOW" button!! 😳

Haha! Yes, definitely Katie @brightcolours
So much yellow in the garden at the moment, which is good as it’s brightening up an otherwise very dull day 😎 💛 #hydrangea-petiolaris
Fabulous array of colours there 😍, mine seems to be brighter than ever this year and the leaves seem to be staying on longer
It’s been a wonderful autumn so far here too Sue. I think the lack of howling winds is helping and it hasn’t really been too cold...yet... ❄️🍂 @lilybee
I’ve got a cutting that’s growing- hope it looks like this 😊
If it’s growing then it will...eventually. This must be about 30 years old I think @sharonhayden
30 years...not sure I’ll be alive by then - it will out live me!!
😂 Me neither but don’t worry it’s been almost this big since we moved in 25 years ago 😊 @sharonhayden
