When I'm not on my bike, you'll find me in my organic garden in #Cumbria. Favourite plants? Wisteria, hellebores, aquilegia, paeonies, philadelphus...

Not sure what it is, the unusual winter was a factor I'm sure, (as the Mahonia didn't flower either, which it had the 2 previous years 🤔) Other than cut back old foliage I did nothing to it. The new foliage this year is beyond huge, leaves as big as the Fatsia it's next to!!

Any thoughts? It’s hard to make out but this is a collection of hellebore stems that have been carefully removed and dragged about a foot to under a nearby heather 🤔🤔🤔 I’m baffled!

1w

They've actually broken off the stems from the plant? Gosh maybe a bird is planning to nest under the heather and took a fancy to them🤔

Hi Jyoty, No they aren’t in the same family as rose. They are in the family Ranunculacaee. They must get their common name as the flowers look a bit like a simple rose. Christmas ones in Dec-Feb (in theory!) & Lenten ones around Feb-Apr. 👍😊 @jyotu
