Tropical weather is a true blessing🌴⛱🌴 I've learned to value the beauty of nature all year round... Growing plants🌱 and building up on knowledge 😉

From Walmart...lol It was literally a half succulent, buried in soil. But I bought it, brought it home and gave it a chance. I doubt anyone else would of bought it, so it was at risk of being thrown away 😶 It's done so well and has showed gratitude by giving me babies 💚 So it was well worth it 👍😊 @cw2080

To be honest... I planted her in a terracotta pot, cactus soil (well draining) & have let the sun and rain do their thing. They get morning and afternoon sun...I have two of them and they are both doing very well. When it doesn't rain and I have to water them, I do the "soak and dry" method😉 @ReginaSanders

@angiie I live in Tennessee and it's cold outside. If I do kill my poor succies I will feel terrible! I did kill my 2 chicks and hens last year. 😔I plan to get a lot more this year. Wish me luck!

Question... Should I behead her and leave the babies on the remaining stem?? She has gotten much bigger and babies are growing nicely. I certainly don't want to stress her or stun her growth. I am no expert but if you are worried about stunting the growth, the best time to behead succulents is in spring before the growing season.

No expert here either...lol. That's what I've heard- Spring. Is it in general though? Does the same apply to places like where I live...tropical island?? Our plants are never exposed to frost or below zero temps (actually never goes below the high 70's in this season) so that's my doubt @sarahflamingo Thank you for your response 😊

I don't know the correct answer but I usually do mine in the fall. I find most are going into their dormant stage and they don't seem to get stressed. Succulents are true survivors and can take a lot of stress so I'm not sure it makes a lot of difference🤔 I'm no expert though😄

Such a good mother! A couple months ago, she tilted herself to the side. I tried putting a scewer and force her to grow straight... Nope, not happening. So I gave in and let her be. To my surprise, she started growing pups on her stem... Guess she wanted her babies to get sun so I helped her out by removing some leaves from underneath. They are doing great so far! 💚 💙💚 #blueatoll #propagation #motherplant #babies #progresspic #update

Everyone is doing succulents these days. This is the first year I’ve had them and I’m beginning to have a little bit of luck keeping them alive. But I sure wish that I could start some new ones but it never seems to work out. These are beautiful

Thank you so much @Flicka . Would you believe me when I say that they have been better when I've most neglected them? I used to be watering every Sunday, some appreciated it while others didn't 😫 Would be constantly moving them in & out of sun. Now, a lot has changed. I have them permanently outside, they get morning sun, indirect sunlight all day, rain... And they LOOOVE it!! Even my Fairy Castle has tripled it's size (and I was hesitant to leave that one outside). So, don't stress it...👍

And remember that any leaf is a potencial Succulent!!😄😂 Have a tray or pot with succulent soil and drop them in there. Mist them daily... You will be amazed 😉 @Flicka Best of luck!

@angiie what is your fairy castle? That’s it just throw them in a tray and mist them with water and I can start the ones? I’ve tried to get a few started to no avail

@flicka yes, at least that's how it's worked for me. Others say to cover them (like making a mini greenhouse) but with our tropical weather I haven't found it necessary. Gonna share a pic with you 👍

@angiie I would probably have to do the greenhouse, we’re lucky to see the sun these days. I’m in NE Ohio.
