Melon Pear has leaves resembling potato leaves, and round, oval or pear-shaped fruit that taste like a honeydew melon. The fruit can be green, white, purple, or cream with purple striping. They require warmth and humidity to grow. They won't set fruit below a night-time temperature of 18 deg. C (65 deg.F) and after pollination fruit take 30-80 days to mature. epino plants do not set fruit until the night temperatures are over 65 F. (18 C.). The fruit matures 30-80 days after pollination.

Propagation by seed

From Mid Spring TO Late Spring

Sow seed in greenhouse in Spring for planting out under glass in early Summer. Sow seeds on edge in good seed compost, individually in pots.

Plant in a greenhouse in early Spring in pots, and keep in the greenhouse for the first year, after which it can be planted outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Over-winter in the greenhouse
