Crocus 'Vanguard'

Crocuses are suitable for planting in groups in borders or rock gardens and some species naturalise in grass. All species are hardy to -20C. With many autumn flowering varieties now available, it is likely you will spot crocuses growing for at least six months of the year, from mid-autumn to late spring. 'Vanguard' is one of the first crocus to bloom and if left undisturbed will increase each year.

They should be planted in moist, free-draining soil that has been enriched with organic compost or well-rotted manure, in a sunny, or partially sunny site. Plant the corms before the first frost.
